Gawler Bottom. Bronze ferrule for shaft of a bronze spear. Ferrule broken short of the pin hole (Burnard).

A bronze ferrule from a spear shaft of Middle or Late Bronze Age date was found at Gawler Bottom by Tom French of Postbridge in 1892. It is 4 1/2' long with an internal diamter of 1/2'. (Gawler Bottom is between Postbridge and Cherrybrook Bridge about SX 6377).
