One of the 'Hut Circles' shown on 19th century map.

(23/06/1950) Hut D. Diameter 8.5m. Well defined entrance with two jambs to south-east. Sketch included.

Visited on 2nd September 1990. The ruined huts, some covered by peat and others exposed by excavation, have internal diameters ranging from 3.6 metres to 8.6 metres. The walling, substantial in places comprises boulders, stone rubble and upright facing slabs; entrances where visible are in the south or south-east sides. All are linked to plots, pounds or field walls.

Hut circle '1' at 'White Ridge South-west 1' settlement of 8.3 metres diameter. A paved floor was exposed during excavation in 1893 when it was concluded it had been a storehouse as no artefacts were recovered and there was no trace of a fireplace or cooking pit. The jamb stones had collapsed towards each other at the entrance on the south-east side which was about 1.2 metres wide. Hut circle shown at the southern end of a curving boundary in a large rectilinear enclosure in the western part of the settlement.
