Full description
Devon County Council, 1977, Survey of Roadside Stones, Okehampton Division (Report - Survey). SDV348247.
Boundary stone inscribed 'Boundary of the Borough of Okehampton'.
Jenkinson, T., 2005 - 2025, Old A30 Launceston to Exeter (Report - Survey). SDV323480.
Site visits 6th April 2008 and 13th June 2020. Boundary stone on Castle Hill, about 1/2 mile south of Okehampton, in the bank just above the road edge on the west side. The stone, which dates to c.1880, is very worn with a large crack near the base. The inscription reads The/Bounds/of the/Borough but is now difficult to read. It is included in Dave Brewer's 1986 book on Boundary Markers. The stone was repaired in 2020.
