Full description

Horner, W., 1999, Untitled Source (Personal Comment). SDV348667.

Well found beneath north-west corner of basement of Howe Church, Castle Street, Torrington. Found during renovation works in mid 1990's. Stone lined, 6 feet in diameter, circa15 feet deep with 6 feet of water. The Howe Church opened in 1858, and there had been a smaller building on the site before then.
