A series of low earthworks are visible on aerial photographs (p1) to the north-east of Great Shortridge. They appear to be the remains of a deserted settlement of medieval or later origin. The features include building platforms, trackways and field boundaries and were digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme. Nothing is marked on the OS 1st Edition 1:2500 scale map. The features are sited within an area described as medieval enclosures based on strip fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
