A roughly rectilinear platform up to 70 metres across was visible on the east-facing slopes south of Stockland village. The platform was enclosed on three sides by an earthwork ditch, and on the southern side abutted a stream that flowed downslope in a roughly easterly direction. A small U-shaped dark cropmark visible on aerial photographs of 1988 outlines possible feeder channels on the north-west edge of the platform, but the earthworks were most clearly visible on digital images derived from lidar data. The earthworks might be evidence of a moated site potentially of medieval date.
