Full description

Griffith, F. M., 1988, DAP/JM, 6a,7 (Aerial Photograph). SDV346838.

Earthwork w Sticklepath. Recorded from the air by Frances Griffith in 1988.

Environment Agency WMS, 2019, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution), 2019 (Cartographic). SDV362956.

Visible on the lidar data.

Kaye, S., 2020, Earthwork west of Sticklepath (Correspondence). SDV363737.

This feature is located on a steep slope but is still rather uniform, with an almost bilateral symmetry. It appears well structured and cut into the slope; may be relatively modern. There is some sort of pit to the north-east and a larger quarry further north-east.
A road or trackway exits the downslope half of the earthwork feature, while in the topmost half of the feature another follows the contours around the hill to another possible bilateral feature that is probably due to the convergence of three roads / tracks running up the hillside just north of the quarry. Function of this feature currently unknown.
