Griffith, F. M., Untitled Source (Report - Survey). SDV677.

Vis=24/8/1999 (griffith) visit with mr bastard (owner) and john wright (trustee and long term investigator of the caves). Complex series of caves at western torr (bob's cave, shelter cave, no name cave, hen hole and others). Despite some very crude excavation in the past, from 18c onwards, much survives in the way of deposits visibly (cave earth etc) and putatively (sealed beneath stalagmite floor). It is clear that many specialists (chamberlain, proctor, etc) and their students have been working here. John wright has copies of numerous reports. Bone finds, in good preservation, of many periods and of numerous species, are stored on site, as are the relatively few upper palaeolithic lithic pieces and the piece of human bone from shelter cave dated to bronze age.

Griffith, F. M., Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV8774.

The caves are at present not open to the public but are obviously very important (fmg).

GeoConservationUK, 1995, Devon County Geological Sites: Rounds Nest Quarry (Un-published). SDV358369.

Chamberlain, A. T., 1997, Cave (Worksheet). SDV358370.
