Full description

National Monuments Record, Untitled Source (National Monuments Record Database). SDV1181.

20-may-1984 examined in 50 28 50n 003 11 21w. Swept clear at 28.9m foul at 30m. Least depth 29m in a general depth of 39m, scour 2m deep, height 9m, length 82m. Lying 150/330 degrees on port side with detached stern section. Mast clearly shown on trace. Probably city of swansea (nmr).

City of swansea. Possibly remains of city of swansea, cargo vessel, torpedoed by german submarine 1917. British steam collier.9-feb-1960 least depth over wreck 17 fathoms height above seabed 27 feet position 15 miles ene from berry head. Wire drift sweep clear at 16 fathoms foul at 17 fathoms general depth by echo sounder 21-22 fathoms least depth by echo sounder 100 feet seabed hard, length 300 feet, lies ne/sw.09-feb-1983 wreck shown in 50 28 57n 003 11 16w (citing kingfisher chart k(sw)2, 1982).
