Ordnance Survey, 1907, 27SE (Cartographic). SDV335714.

Round barrow, south of West Gorwin Plantation.


Ancient Monuments, 1968, Round Barrow South of West Gorvin Plantation (Schedule Document). SDV341230.

Round barrow in field of pasture. Spread by cultivation. Height 4 feet, diameter 40 yards. Faint trace of a berm. Scattering of small stones on the circumference, presumably the remains of a peristalith.

Site visit 5th April 1968. Grass. Diameter 30 paces, height 4 feet.

1. Bowl barrow under grass.
2. Site visit 16th October 1977. Situated on a south-facing slope at 183 metres Ordnance Datum. Grass covered bowl barrow, no evidence of ditch. Approximately 37 metres diameter and 1.1 metres high.


Devon Committee for Rescue Archaeology, 1979 - 1981, North Devon Barrow Survey, DCRA ND47 (Archive - Survey). SDV341310.

Site visit 2nd May 1979. Large mound in pasture field. Slightly flattish top probbly due to ploughing, not an original feature. Good condition. No visible ditch or berm.

Bowl barrow situated on an upland ridge overlooking the balley of a tributary of the River Torridge and forms part of a group of barrows recorded in this area. The barrow survives as a 1.4 metre high circular mound with a diameter of 32.5 metres. Surrounding ditch survives as a buried feature approximately 4 metres wide.
