Summary

Crossing describes a mutilated cross at this farm, lying at the back of the farm buildings. Used as a gate post, and the head and part of the arms had been knocked off. Of rough rectangular section, with traces of an incised cross - crosslet on one face. Apparently now disappeared.

Site of stone cross - not located.
Waye Barton, a farm 1.5 kilometres south-west of Chagford. Crossing describes a mutilated cross at this farm, lying at the back of the farm buildings (SX6885 8695). Used as a gate post, and the head and the greater part of the arms had been knocked off. Of roughly rectangular section, it bore traces of an incised cross - crosslet on one face. Its has apparently now disappeared (Citing Crossing, 1882-1902).
The farmer has no knowledge of the present whereabouts of this cross (07/07/1974).
