Full description

Blaylock, S., 1997, An Archaeological Watching Brief and Description of the Insertion of a Below Ground Electricity Supply to Trowlesworthy Warren Farm Upper Plym Valley, Dartmoor, 2, fig. 3 (Report - Watching Brief). SDV149633.

Ditch [103284] Probable drainage ditch in north-south alignment, its east side 6.7 to 7 metres south-west of farm courtyard wall. The south side lay against a large granite boulder which formed the east side of stone drain [103285].
Approximately 2 metres wide, surviving to a maximum depth of 0.50 metres, with fill of mid brown silty clay which contained no dating evidence. The farm was rebuilt in this position in the first half of the 19th century. This was probably a drainage ditch which preceded the stone capped drain [103285: MDV61233] dating from within life of present farm.
