Vis=-/2/1999 (national trust) estuary road from lympstone to exmouth. Road shown running alongside estuary on donn's map of 1765, 1809 1" os map and 1840 tithe map. Routes running past island and lower halsdon farm from e join up with it. Likely to have been quite an early route, but had presumably declined in importance by later 19c, as railway built along similar line in 1861 (national trust).
