Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
Depicted on the Tithe Map; much the same as the present day map depiction.

Much of the present house was built around 1560 and an oak beam in the drawing room has the date 1566 scratched into it, suggesting either a build date or major reconstruction at this time. Operated as a bed and breakfast guesthouse for several years between 1934-1985. During the war, used as convalescence accommodation to airmen suffering from burns.
