A curvilinear ditch, circa 4.5 m wide, is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The earthwork corresponds with the northern edge of a circular copse shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of the late 19th century and labelled as ‘Rydon Clump’. It is therefore interpreted as an outer ditch of an ornamental 19th century tree clump. The southern extent of the tree clump has since been cleared and the earthwork is not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to tree cover in this location.
