Summary
A probable Bronze Age hut circle was reported here in 1953 as single-walled with an approximate diameter of 12 metres. Subsequent field visits have not been able to locate the feature. This may be due to the dense bracken coverage of the area.

Full description
Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1953/1974, SX68NE9 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV273556.
(19/03/1953) Hut circle. A probable hut circle exists on meldon common sited upon a gentle slope. Single walled and in poor condition. A dozen stones are visible around the circumference. No entrance visible the hut falls within an area of low irregular field banks and lynchets.
(24/11/1953) Not located owing to extremely heavy bracken.
(23/07/1974) Bracken of extreme density and height prevented location of the probable hut circle.
