Summary

The Sourton Tors area has been extensively used for military training purposes in the past and this has left a rich array of different features associated with this activity. Within the monument there are a number of fox holes and within and around the westernmost pond there are a number which were surveyed during the 1998 MPP visit. Of particular interest is the survival of a narrow communication trench leading between the two fox holes in the pond.

The Sourton Tors area has been extensively used for military training purposes in the past and this has left a rich array of different features associated with this activity.
