(06/01/1997) SX 67786863. A solitary hut circle on a slight shelf in the hillside overlooking the left bank of the River Mardle adjacent to the Scorriton track. The hut has been terraced into the gentle hillslope to provide a slightly ovoid, level interior measuring 4.4m N to S by 3.5m bounded by spread boulder walls 1.4m wide and 0.4m high. There is no obvious entrance.
There is little ground evidence to suggest the presence of the additional hut depicted by Butler and the nearby field boundaries appear to be of medieval or later origin.

English Heritage, 2005-2008, Prehistoric Survey Information (Cartographic). SDV345521.

Hut circle shown on survey.

Historic England, 2020, National Heritage List for England, 1019591 (National Heritage List for England). SDV363414.

At least six stone hut circles are known, and these survive as banks each surrounding an oval or circular internal area which varies from 12.5 square metres to 56.7 square metres with the average being 35 square metres. The heights of the surrounding walls vary between 0.4 metres and 1 metre, with the average being 0.72 metres. One of the huts has a visible doorway and two are butted by field walling.
