Site visit 1st April 1999. Stone hut circle within coaxial fields on Halsanger Common. Diameter 4.4 metres, earthwork wall 1.2 metres wide, 1.0 metre high. This hut survives as a scoop cut into the side of a moderately steep slope. Grass, bracken and gorse.

Hut circle in reave system on Halshanger Common
A stone hut circle located within a neighbourhood group of 16 dispersed huts on Halsanger Common, and the western corner of Rippon Tor enclosure, spread over about 7 hectares amidst the parallel reaves. Some are attached to reaves, though others are free standing. Condition is stable. SX74302 74745

(17/06/2019) Condition assessed as bad. Substantial gorse growth over an estimated 70% of the earthwork walls and some inside the hut circle. Bracken shoots throughout and heavy gorse in surrounding area up to earthwork walls.
