Site visit 1st April 1999. Stone hut circle within coaxial fields on Halsanger Common. Diameter 7.5 metres. Double orthostate wall, 1.2 metres wide, 1.05 metres high. 160 degree gap probably represents a doorway. Some animal poaching at based of largest stone. Hawthorn on south-east wall. Grass and bracken.

Butler's hut circle 12. Measures 7.0 metres in diameter and is in poor condition. Many stones have been scattered on the downhill side.

Hut circle within reave system on Halshanger Common
A stone hut circle located within a neighbourhood group of 16 dispersed huts on Halsanger Common, and the western corner of Rippon Tor enclosure, spread over about 7ha amidst the parallel reaves. Some are attached to reaves, though others are free standing. Condition is stable. SX74546 74658

(09/06/2019) Condition assessed as poor. Hut has widespread bracken growth (young shoots), and is covered in short grass. Old Hawthorn tree is growing out of the wall (photo 5) as well as some gorse noted nearby.
