site visit 1st April 1999. Stone hut circle within coaxial fields on Halsanger Common. Diameter 7.4 metres. Double and single orthostat wall 2.3 metres wide, 0.7 metres high. 100 degree facing gap may represent a doorway. East of the hut is a crescent shaped annex defined by an orthostatic wall standing up to 0.7 metres high and as a clearly defined lynchet. The annex measures up to 4.0 metres wide and tapers towards the wall of the hut. Grass, bracken and gorse.

Hut circle within reave system on Halshanger Common
A stone hut circle located within a neighbourhood group of 16 dispersed huts on Halsanger Common, and the western corner of Rippon Tor enclosure, spread over about 7 hectares amidst the parallel reaves. Some are attached to reaves, though others are free standing. Condition is stable. SX74820 74740
