Summary

Hut measures 6.6 metres in diameter, with double orthostat walls 0.8 metres high. Doorway on the south-eastern side. A second large slab lying within the entrance probably represents a fallen jamb from the east side. Butted by field walls.

Full description

Stone hut circle within coaxial fields on Horridge Common. Diameter 6.6 metres. Double orthostat wall 0.8 metres high. 168 degree facing gap denoted by a large orthostat on west may represent a doorway. A second large slab lying within the entrance probably represents a fallen jamb from the east side. Butted by field walls. Covered with grass, bracken and gorse with hawthorn trees.

Hut circle on northern sector of Horridge Common. A hut circle, one of two sited just south of the Bagtor Wood enclosure. Two door jambs survive in situ on the south-east side. Conditions is stable but gorse covered. SX75763 74858
