Summary

A much ruined hut circle just inside the southern edge of Bagtor Wood at SX75840 74880. Although most of Bagtor Wood has now been felled, this hut lies within a small belt of conifers which remain standing. Condition is declining.

Full description

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP 152322, 1/4/1999 (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

Stone hut circle within coaxial fields on Horridge Common at SX7584 7488. Measures 8.1 metres in diameter. Single orthostat, rubble and earthwork walls 1.4 metres wide, 0.7 metres high. Only parts of this hut survive. Four deciduous trees within the hut, one fallen within, two fallen across and one on the wall has uprooted parts of the wall as it has fallen. East and west sectors survive as stony wall, elsewhere it survives as a scarp.
