Summary

Granary at great pitt farm. Mid to late c19.2 storey building, built of red cob on local stone rubble footings, onto nw end of barn. Roof has roman tiles but may have been thatched originally. Has irregular front with 2 doorways. Loft loading hatch se of centre. External flight of steps up to doorway to loft. No evidence of partitions, stalls or other fixtures on ground floor. Loft divided into 2 rooms by boarded stud partition. Nw room has remains of boarded ceiling and slotted timbers from 3 grain bins along sw side. Sw room connects to adjacent barn by means of hatch doorway (keystone).
