Documentary references to Dunscombe Paper Mills in 1693 and to Paper-mill fields at Higher Dunscombe in 1794. Records from Bodley's Old Quay Foundry, Exeter refer to casting the ironwork for a waterwheel for Dunscombe Farm near Crediton in 1879. The waterwheel has been removed and is thought to have gone to Sidbury Mill. Other details: Draft Report.
