A notice in the Western Times in 1877 includes a reference to farm buildings with water power and a subsequent notice in the Devon & Exeter Gazette in 1901 states that 'there is water power and a wheel on the premises for driving thrashing and other machinery'. The water wheel was still extant in 2004.
