Linear and curvilinear earthwork banks were visible aerial photographs of 1971 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured from 1998 to 2014.
The visible earthworks correspond in part with boundaries depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but extend beyond these to define a system of rectilinear enclosures. The banks are therefore interpreted as evidence of former field boundaries of probable medieval date that were partly removed prior to the mid-to-late 19th century, with some surviving into the 20th century.
