Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1855-1895, First Edition 1:500 Town Map (Cartographic). SDV338879.

Walls appear on the Ordnance Survey Town map of 1855-1895.

Weddell, P. J., 1993, Archaeological Assessment of a Development Site at Mill Street/Queen Street, Bideford, 6-7 (Report - Assessment). SDV18954.

Boundary walls are located to the rear of numbers 46-47, Mill Street and are shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1885.

The western boundary wall contains evidence for earlier structures, particularly at the northern end. This wall also incorporates some early (18th century?) brickwork in its upper levels.

The walls contain evidence of previously demolished buildings and visible features include probable windows and fireplaces which are outlined in the surviving stonework.
