The outbuilding to the east of Riverside House is believed to have been a forge in the 19th century, and will be retained.

The outbuilding at Riverside House was a forge/smithy, and is now to be converted to a dwelling. The forge furnaces remain and are built of red brick. Smithy shown on Ordnance Survey (1903) map and Wood map of 1840.
