Bridgewater, R., 08/06/2001, Earlier Beare Bridge (Correspondence). SDV349595.

Local tradition of bridge at above grid reference, which carried the road to Copplestone. Demolished owing to dangerous state, leaving only semi-circular buttress.

Beer bridge was a pretty three-arch bridge over the Okement, about 100 yards below the junction of the East and West Okements. The centre pier was repaired at the town's charge in 1628. All that remains is part of the abutment on the east bank.
