'London Lodge' also known as 'Old Lodge' was shown on Ordnance Survey map, (1804-7) as one of the entrances to Clovelly Court.

In the early 1800s the Hamlyn family set out an ambitious drive from the main house extending along the coastal woodland strip exiting onto the main A39 road at the eastern extent of Clovelly parish. This was a two stage project the initial stage being somewhat shorter and emerged from the woodland through the arch of a fine building known as London Lodge. The second stage had Hobby Lodge as it entrance.

'London Lodge' also known as 'Old Lodge' was shown on the OS 1804-7 map as one of the entrances to Clovelly Court. London Lodge provided the entrance to the Hobby Drive prior to Hobby Lodge being built after 1840.
