Mill Leat marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map.
Exeter Archaeology, 1999, Archaeological assessment of a site in Lower Raleigh Road, Barnstaple, 1, 7 (Report - Assessment). SDV337863.
Medieval leat 2.5km long originated at a weir on the river yeo below raleigh wood at ngr ss58773442 + powered the series of mills on the site at raleigh. At the mill complex the leat turned through 180 degrees. In 1998 it was reached via concrete steps + had 3 sluices still in good condition
