Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Field named as Church Path on the Ottery St. Mary Tithe Map and Apportionment (plot 1572).

Field called Church Path recorded in the apportionment for the 1843 tithe map indicates an ecclesiastical connection. Ware farm dates from at least 1330 but it is not known whether it had its own chapel in the medieval period. A chapel did exist at Holcombe Barton less than 1 kilometre to the northwest.
