Full description

Ministry of Public Building and Works, 10/03/1970, Hut Circle Village 600 yds SE of Swincombe (Schedule Document). SDV356121.

[One of a] series of hut circles associated with an extensive field wall system comprising presumably one economic and social unit. Marked 'q' on map but possibly meant at 'j', 15 feet diameter with no apparent entrance.

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 26/07/1988, RCHME Site Visit (Report - Survey). SDV356898.

Site visit 26th July 1988. Hut circle H at SX64627224. Internal diameter 4.0 to 4.8 metres. Walling of piled rubble 1.3 to 1.8 metres wide but spread to the north to 2.9 metres. Walling height is 0.25 to 0.45 metres internally and 0.35 to 0.65 metres externally: greatest on the north. A slight break at the east-north-east position may indicate an entrance. Inside is level and featureless. Condition is good.
