Name:Huts in oval enclosure south-west of Venford Reservoir

Summary

Inside and adjacent to the west edge of enclosure MDV6379 are two hut circles. Both have been terraced into the slope to create level interiors and possess walls 1 metres wide and up to 0.5 metres high. Neither shows any obvious signs of an entrance. The north hut has an internal diameter of 4.2 metres while in the south-west corner of the enclosure the other hut measures 2.5 metres in diameter.

(26/04/1950) A small circular enclosure containing two hut circles. The hut circle (diameter 5.5m) is attached to the enclosure wall. No obvious entrance.

Pair of huts. The northern hut measures 4.2 metres in diameter and has an entrance opening into the wider enclosure. The other hut to the south measures 2.6 metres in diameter and does not have an obvious entrance.

(18/04/1996) Centred SX 6807 7054: A sub-circular enclosure containing two hut circles adjacent to the south-west corner of the fence surrounding Venford Reservoir (see related record for enclosure details).
Inside and adjacent to the west edge of the enclosure are two hut circles. Both have been terraced into the slope to create level interiors and possess walls 1 metres wide and up to 0.5 metres high. Neither shows any obvious signs of an entrance. The north hut at SX 6806 7055 has an internal diameter of 4.2 metres while at SX 6806 7054 in the south west corner of the enclosure the other hut measures 2.5 metres in diameter.
