Curwood's Buildings. The Curwood family were bakers for most of the 19th century. The earliest large-scale maps of the town show that these were present by the 1840s. They comprised a row of 10 cottages, within a court. The 1881 census indicates the heads of households comprised both skilled and unskilled labourers, with many other members employed in the lace factory. Map evidence suggests demolition around 1970.
