Enclosure 'C' at 'Venford Valley South farmsteads' with three hut circles. The northern boundary has been destroyed by streamers and the southern boundary has become detached by the Wheal Emma leat.

(13/01/1997) Centred SX 6808 7043: Three hut circles and fragments of contemporary enclosures lie on the moderate north-facing slope above the right bank of the central arm of the Venford Brook. The huts are all terraced into the slope with level interiors in the range 2.5m to 4.7m in diameter. Entrances, where apparent are in the eastern quadrant.
The associated field boundaries consist of low stoney banks around 1.2m wide and 0.4m high. This relict field system has been disturbed by deep streamworks and later leats.
SX 6810 7043 Hut diameter measures 4.7m internally, with walls 1.4m wide, 0.5m high. Entrance in east.
SX 6810 7043 Hut diameter measures 2.8m internally, with walls 1.2m wide, 0.6m high. Adjoins above hut.
SX 6806 7043 Hut diameter measures 2.5m internally, with walls 0.9m wide, 0.4m high. Possible entrance in north-east.

(Part of) Enclosed prehistoric settlement and round cairn 880m south-west of Venford Reservoir dam.
Settlement includes at least four enclosures, of which this is the southern. Sits on southern edge of steep sided valley formed by tin streamworking. The northern part has been removed by this later streamworking, but the remainder contains at least three hut circles. Cutting through the southern part of the enclosure is a length of Wheal Emma Leat over which there is a small clapper bridge.
