Full description

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1987-1993, Duchy Farms Project Survey Visit, S. Probert (Report - Survey). SDV350839.

(07/09/1992) Centred SX 66267700. A cluster of three low amorphous mounds on the crest of Riddon Ridge 470m south of the Postbridge to Widecombe road. The mounds appear to be of turf construction with no stone visible. They measure on average 3.0m across and survive to a maximum height of 0.55m. They lie in an area of former peat cutting and are probably related to this activity.

(17/03/1999) SX 6623 7696 Cairn on Riddon Ridge lying 550m south-east of Bellever Bridge. Dimeter 4m, height 0.3m.
(17/03/1999) SX 6627 7699 Cairn on Riddon Ridge lying 560m south-east of Bellever Bridge. Diameter 3.7m, height 0.25m. Gorse and grass covered mound. Probably a small field clearance cairn.
(17/03/1999) SX 6628 7702 Peat cutting earthworks on Riddon Ridge. Within the monument there are areas of peat cutting earthworks. Amongst the most pronounced of these lies at above grid reference where the tyes are an average 0.2m deep and cover a relatively small area.
