Vis=est -/-/2001 (ancient monuments) deer park pale, 460m ne of lyneham house.

A length of medieval park pale surrounding lyneham park and the earthwork bank enclosing a 19c belt of beech trees which follow the pale. The length of pale consists of an earthwork bank 2.5m wide and up to 1.2m high, with remains of a stone wall on its inner face, falling up to 1.7m to a ditch which is 1.5m wide and 0.5m deep. Further lengths of pale surviving to the w + nw are the subject of a separate scheduling. The bank + ditch which encloses the belt of beech trees runs parallel with the pale 18m to the sw. The bank is 2m wide and 1m high with a ditch 2m wide and 0.3m deep on its inside (am).
