Full description

South Molton & District Archive Local History Society, 2000, South Molton Heritage Trail, 11 (Pamphlet). SDV61800.

Chapel House was once a medieval chapel licensed as a chantry chapel dedicated to St. Anne and St. John of Bridlington in 1449. In 1849 it provided a schoolroom for infants, before being used as a storeroom until 1982. It has now been converted into a dwelling.

Respondent to Dean Milles questionnaire mentions a chantry chapel to the south of the churchyard that was dedicated to St. Anne but was converted into a dwelling.

Formerly a Non-Conformist Chapel. Early 19th century. Two storeys stone, partly plastered. Hipped slate roof. Two sashes with glazing bars intact to first floor. Unloading doors. Doorcases with fanlights to ground floor. End elevation has 'Gothick' windows.
