Hut circle 'A' at SX 6120 7596: A hut circle of almost 'D' shaped plan, 2.1 metres diameter internally, terraced into the slope. Its rubble walls of large stones and boulders average 1 metre width and 0.4 metres height. No entrance is visible.

Visited on 5th April 2002. Stone hut circle forming part of a prehistoric settlement 320 metres north-east of Crockern. Diameter 2.5 metres. Single orthostat wall 0.8 metres wide, 0.55 metres high. A stone set through the wall may indicate the position of a 200 degree facing doorway. The nearby field wall does not touch this hut. Grass and gorse.

This monument includes a stone hut circle settlement situated within Crockern Newtake on a gentle south west-facing slope overlooking the West Dart River. The stone hut circle settlement includes five stone hut circles, which survive as rubble banks each surrounding a circular internal area which varies from 4.9 square metres to 36.3 square metres. The surrounding walls measure up to 0.7 metres high and two have visible doorways. Associated with the stone hut circles are several lengths of field walling formed by large slabs, some of which are edge set, although most are laid horizontally.
