Full description
Humphreys, C. + Mandry, A., 2001, Fish Traps Project, 4-7 (Article in Serial). SDV342249.
List of fish traps recorded as shipping hazards on 19th century charts. Number 13, referred to as Yelland Kiln (should be Penhill Point West), is extant. Observed in August 2001 by members of North Devon Archaeological Society, near the old lime kiln to the south of Penhill Point. A single row, circa 37 metres long and consisting of 33 posts, was found.

The smaller southern wing of this weir has been located, but not the return. A number of abraded, rounded stumps, often in twos and threes, are in evidence. These are sited close to a disused lime kiln. Other details: Fig 3.
