Humphreys, C. + Mandry, A., 2001, Fish Traps Project, 5 (Article in Serial). SDV342249.

List of fish traps recorded as shipping hazards on 19th century charts. Penhill Point East, number 18, may or may not be extant.


Preece, C., 2002, Fish Weirs: As Irritating As Traffic Cones, 10-11 (Article in Serial). SDV342210.

Extract from the Denham map of 1832 shows fish weirs as chevron-like features. During a search by members of North Devon Archaeological Society, no evidence was found of number 18, to the east of Penhill Point.

No remains were noted during visits in 2005, but a considerable covering of sand was observed. Other details: Figure 3.
