Merchants' Roads marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, an area of land to the north of the parish church.

Merchants' Roads is also depicted on the Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of between 1904-06.

Merchant Roads are marked to the north of Seaton Parish Church on the Ordnance Survey 1808 25 inch map. A rhode or rode is a shallow estuary of the sea for the safe harbourage of shipping.

The field name 'Great Merchants Roads' within plot 661 on the Seaton and Beer parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48 indicates the use of the land at this time. The 'Merchants' Roads' is also labelled on both the First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s and the Second Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of between 1904-06.
