Newman, P. + Probert, S. + Riley, H., 1994/1995, Houndtor Down, Manaton, Devon - A New Survey by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England. (Report - Survey). SDV344628.

(06/02/1995) SX 7457 7839: A pair of slotted gateposts flank a gateway in the north wall of the Holwell Lawn enclosures 200 metres south west of Greator Rocks. The posts remain in-situ, the east post, a chisel topped post, measures 1.3 metres high and possesses five small rectangular slots in its west face. Opposite this stone is a flat topped post which has been repositioned and turned by 90 degrees. It measures 1.1 metres high with a similar number of chamfered rectangular slots.
