'West Ridge' shown on 19th century map as a small rectangular building in a rectilinear enclosure to the south of 'Thorneford' farmstead. A spring is shown as 'S' to the west of the building.

Site visited on 9th July 2003. The remains of West Ridge are now within plantation woodland. The building has no roof but the walls are standing to circa 6 metres.
