Hut circle marked.


Turner, J. R., 1976, Ancient Monuments on Forestry Commission Land. Fernworthy and Bellever (Report - non-specific). SDV351823.

Fernworthy Plantation. Toms Hill. 2E. Ruined hut circle 5.5 metres diameter. Not investigated. Has been planted over.
April 1976. All trees removed. Debris still to be removed and marker posts erected.
Not included in 1955 Spooner Dixon report. New discovery.

Site visit 28th April 1997. Hut circle at SX64978409 forming part of unenclosed hut circle settlement. Diameter 4.4 metres. Single orthostat rubble and earthwork wall 1.4 metres wide, 0.3 metres high.

Fernworthy. Toms Hill 1-4B, 6B. Site visit 27th September 1996. Five hut circles within a large clearing on north side of track. Sites well marked but the archaeological remains are difficult to identifty as they are covered by long grass. Gorse is also widespread throughout the clearance area.

Earthwork circle approximately 5.3 metres diameter with no visible stone surviving. A linear earthwork extending for some 6.0 metres from the south-east quadrant may be the remains of an enclosure wall.
