Summary
One of a group of six huts excavated by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1896. Hut D measures 4.7m in diameter. Internal area 17.34m. Double and single orthostat wall 1.3m wide, 0.6m high. Door faces 192 degrees and is indicated by substantial flanking stones which have both fallen into the passage and now rest against each other. Two large orthostats from the e wall have collapsed into the hut's interior. Grass. Excavated by DEC in 1896 revealing a small amount of charcoal and a flint.

Four more huts excavated at White Ridge. Hut D; yielded one cooking stone (diameter 432mm, thickness 76mm).
