Full description
ACE Archaeology Club, 1999, Winkleigh Airfield Survey (Un-published). SDV20447.
M + E plinth of brick construction. In good condition. Some of the concrete and glass capping has been removed for roofing. There is a metal framed, chained link door which could be original. Stands in pasture. Now used as a store.
ACE Archaeology Club, 2008, Winkleigh Airfield, 12-13 (Report - Survey). SDV359876.
These buildings contained relays and electrical equipment. Constructed of brick, the walls topped with concrete imbedded with broken glass. No windows. Structurally sound although the doors are generally missing. Steel bolts still embedded in the concrete floor which secured the generators. See report for details of individual buildings.
