ACE Archaeology Club, 1999, Winkleigh Airfield Survey (Un-published). SDV20447.
The survey of Winkleigh Airfield by ACE Archaeology Club in 1999 compared the 1945 plan with surviving structures. At the sewage disposal works 'Site 9',' six concrete bases remained. The site originally accommodated a destructor house, a tool shed, a bucket washing platform and a pump house of temporary brick construction. The site also included drying beds and a sewage works lateral flow.
The site was viewed from some way off. As it was very overgrown, it was not possible to establish the details of what remains. Other details: Site 287.
